Thank you for expressing an interest in what it’s like to practise as a social worker in the Islands of Guernsey. Guernsey is a great place to live and work. The approach to everything the team does is based on relational practice, working ‘with’ children and their families rather than delivering services ‘to’ them.
Our caseloads are comparatively low, meaning we have more time to spend with children and families, and there’s a real focus on partnership working to ensure children access the ‘right’ help at the ‘right’ time. We are ambitious, not only for the children and young people we support, but also for our workforce.
